This blog is going to dive into details of the different STEM majors offered at Universities. If you are struggling to decide what you want to major in in college, then hopefully this will help you make that decision!

Seniors in high school face immense pressure. They are asked to choose what they want to do with the rest of their life at the ripe age of 17/18. This comes in the form of declaring their college major. However, some students don't know what career they want to pursue. They choose the college major they have had the most exposure to or that they find the easiest, but this might not be the path they are most passionate about. According to The National Center for Educational Statistics, 35% of students who originally declared STEM majors changed their field of study within 3 years. If students were more informed of the opportunities colleges have to offer going into the application process, then they would pick majors they would excel at the first time around and not need to switch.

The Problem

My Solution

I want to provide a platform where students can learn about all of the possible STEM majors before they commit to one they aren't passionate about. Hopefully students can take the information they learn from this blog and implement it into their applications, so they won't need to switch majors later on. ​

What I Created

Post that cover the common STEM disciplines

I have provided multiple In-depth blog posts that focus on the different STEM disciplines and the unique majors that each contain. I have included information on the top schools for each major, a sample class schedule, possible career options, and why you should study each major.

Interviews with different STEM careers

I have interviewed a variety of professionals in STEM fields to learn about their college process and their current occupations. This will provide students with insight into what their futures could look like if they chose a specific major. These interviews will also dive deep into the amount of additional education required for certain career paths

Unique blog posts that showcase other aspects of the STEM community

I have produced additional blog posts that cover other unique STEM major related topics, like celebrities with unknown STEM majors or underground STEM majors most students don't know about. These posts will cover a wide variety of information that combines STEM majors with entertaining topics.
